It is now that Sigi, Zan, Nevin and Vic stay already for one week in Colorado for training. Snowboarding up at Copper Mountain is just epic! The snow is really perfect and the riding up there is great pleasure.
The only thing that is really tough in the first days: the slopes are at the high altitude of up to 3.767 metres!!! The riders stay down in the villages Copper (3.000 metres) and Frisco which is at "only" 2.750 metres of altitude. The training at this high altitude will for sure give the SGriders some benefits for the coming trainings and races in Europe.
Sigi and Zan Kosir came together to ride on Colorado snow. Zan decided to start his comeback after his surgery with these perfect conditions here in Copper. That was a good choice as he is already riding fast and extreme like we know him.
SG-Rider Vic Wild from the US is showing us the places to go. We went down to Denver the other day to check out the city and of course do some shopping. Vic also just got back from a nasty ankle-injury and is
riding extremely strong. He finished 8th at his comeback at the WorldCup in Landgraaf and is one of the fastest on the trainings.
Nevin Galmarini came to Colorado with the Swiss Team and he will even stay for one more week to take advantage of these marvelous conditions at Copper Mountain.
Maybe half of the WorldCup-riders are presently in Colorado for training and for these two NorAmCup-races at Copper on Thursday and Friday.
There are also a lot of youngsters here for training - good to see so many rookies around!
Yesterday a bunch of riders got invited to a Thanksgiving-Party at one of Vic's friends Walker. His mom cooked the best Turkey ever and those sweet potatoes just rocked! Thanks for the invitation! It was a really warm welcome!
