Friday 13 June evening, Day 6, Modane/France
The Highest Point

After 7h45min of ride and 154km of road, and a total of 3.270m altutide, I am done but happy. Today I passed the highest peak of my tour – Col d’Iséran at 2770m (and also the coldest 2°C). I had a big SHOCK at Val d'Isère, when I read a street sign that the pass was closed (huge avalanche the day before), but I risked it and crossed over - together with some fearless German motorbikers...

Thursday, 12 June, Day 5 of Sigi’s Private X-Alps: Yesterday was a fight against the wind all the way from Brig to Martigny, 70 nasty kilometers, I was already empty near Sion and had still the WHOLE mountain in front!! The wind was my enemy, if you go down the mountain and your speed never passes 20km/h, this is depressing. I had 50 minutes downhill time from GrandSanBernard to Aosta, what an eternity! Fighting continued in direction Courmayeur. There at Prè St.Didier near MontBlanc just take a hot shower, minestrone, a huge risotto falldownasleepzzz…

Friday 13 June, Day 6, Sigi RoadStar via iphone:
Start in the morning in front of MontBlanc, blue sky, sun, good mood, have slept more than 8 hours this night, ate a lot, shaved my legs (this helps really!) and I’m on the road again, vive la France, vin rouge, camebert, I’m coming!

When will Sigi arrive in his final destination Andorra?

o he makes 200km/per day and will arrive in 12 days without problem

o he takes the train in Marseille and will make it in 7 days

o he will not arrive at all, because he stays on the beach somewhere in France

o he will arrive late as usual on 22nd for the Bob Dylan concert

Last weekend we had the ski&golf world championchips on Kitzsteinhorn glacier in Austria - yeah, right - ski!!! & golf!! So it was first time for me in a speedsuit (hope there are not too much pictures around... ).
For the first time there was also a team event - we had a pretty strong team: single world champ Ossi Hochfilzer, Stefan Egger, Walter Fischer, Bode Miller (yes HIM!) and me.

Ischgl/Tirol, 5. April 2008) – Einen tollen Erfolg verbucht auch das 2. SG Invitational in Ischgl. Beim Saisonabschluss der alpinorientierten Snowboarder stand heute der Team-Parallel-Contest im Staffelformat auf dem Programm. Am Start sammelten sich Amateure und Nachwuchsfahrer, Legenden und aktive Profis. Stolz präsentierten die Gastgeber Sigi Grabner und Ischgl die 16 teilnehmenden Teams, die mit insgesamt über 100 Weltcupsiegen, 12 Weltmeistertiteln, sechs Gesamtweltcup Champions und vier Olympischen Medaillen schon vor dem Rennen mit Titeln bestachen.
